Steel Challenge

Steel Challenge is very shooter-friendly and easy to learn, shoot 5 steel plates from one position and you’re done! Actually, there’s a little more to it but that’s the basics. There will be 5 stages, or courses of fire, consisting of 5 steel plates of different sizes at varying distances. The plates are 10″ round, 12″ round and an 18×24″ rectangle. One hit on each plate is all that is required to score on that plate, each stage is shot 5 times and the best 4 times added together determine your score on that stage. There is no movement required while shooting the stage. All Divisions require drawing from a belt holster to begin the string of fire, except the .22 rimfire pistols, they always begin the string of fire from low ready. Minimum centerfire caliber required is 9mm/.38 Special and the Divisions break down as follows:

  • .22 Rimfire Pistol, Iron Sight

  • .22 Rimfire Pistol, Optic Sight

  • Open (Centerfire with optics and compensator)

  • Limited (Centerfire Iron Sight)

  • Production (Centerfire Iron Sight)

  • Double Action Revolver

  • Single Stack / CDP

  • Pistol Caliber Carbine
